Features of the Division
The Division of Molecular Pathology, Department of Microbiology and Pathology, is focused on education, pathological diagnosis, and research.
Regarding education, our staff members make a considerable effort to promote education regarding pathology for medical students, and to train future pathologists. We seek to provide one-on-one teaching and lessons for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. We aim to manage our laboratory with a friendly and open atmosphere. We promote both straightforward research projects producing clear and definite results, and original studies of novel questions. Furthermore, we provide support to highly motivated students seeking to study abroad.
Regarding pathological diagnosis, we provide each graduate student with an opportunity to study general pathology and surgical pathology, and to obtain certification from the Japanese Association of Pathology, the Japanese Society of Clinical Cytology and the Japanese Society of Laboratory Medicine. Finally, we provide support to postgraduate students who become independent pathologists. We manage our laboratory to promote communication between pathologists and clinicians, with a focus on human pathology.
